History

ACS is a brand of M&V srl, With over thirty years of experience in the world of slush machines, and more than 15 years of experience in the production of coffee machines for both domestic and professional use, a company born in Naples, a city of a thousand contradictions, a cluster of museums, historic buildings, landscapes and art, but above all home to actors, musicians, writers and poets. Totò, Eduardo de Filippo, Massimo Troisi, Pino Daniele, some of the most famous Italian artists.

In this context our story begins with the production of machines for coffee.

Naples: home of suspended coffee, where the coffee ritual is an essential break in the day of a Neapolitan. Rite to be performed at home every morning and then in the various bars scattered throughout the city.

Break to socialize, to work, to meet friends or simply for a moment to stop, or as Luciano De Crescenzo said "whoever offers you coffee is telling you that he loves you." In this context we began the production of coffee machines, immediately positioning ourselves in a high-end sector, producing professional domestic machines for coffee beans.

In 2013 ACS designed and patented the Vesuvius, the first coffee machine with variable profiles in the world, a method subsequently adopted by other manufacturing companies also published in the newspaper "Frankfurter Allgemeine"

To these high-performance machines with an attractive design are added the machines for the Horeca sector (bars, hotels, restaurants, communities).

Our production is now widespread throughout the world, from the Americas to the Far East.

1962

In 1962, after several years of constant research for new products, the real revolution took place with the creation of the first machine for the production of granita in the world. To complete the product range, a copper chocolate maker was also developed. The continuous study and improvement of the produced equipment led, in 1983, to a revolution in the world of granita machines with the launch of the first horizontal development granita machine, halving production times and optimizing the granita production process. This method was subsequently adopted by all machine manufacturers, and it is still in use today.

1967

Many scientific discoveries, even revolutionary ones, have happened by chance: the granita machine is no exception. The year was 1967, the place a workshop of Neapolitan craftsmen in the heart of the city, and it all happened by chance right there! Already manufacturers of refrigerated beverage dispensers and chocolate makers, the Cortese brothers were used to testing their machines for long periods before delivering them to customers. Giuseppe, the youngest of them, noticed a new phenomenon during one of these tests: the agitator blade, rotating inside a beverage dispenser's tank, when it brushed against the bottom and touched the metal cooling plate, scraped ice crystals that had formed. The crystals, increasing in number, remained solid and began to aggregate, forming a granita. This was the start of a study process carried out entirely within the company Elettromeccanica Fratelli Cortese, which led to the creation, a few years later, of the first granita machine in the world.

1992

The founding of the company ELCOR, in a larger facility for the production of new granita machines to meet the demands of the global market.
